ARTIST'S STATEMENT
As an Artist, I have been immersed in the arts and creative life since childhood, raised in a creative environment by both my father, famous painter William L. Hill and my mother who has been my biggest supporter and cultivated my talents as a child. I was raised in a home that did not have television, if you were not outside climbing trees and exploring the mountains, you were inside creating art of some kind or another.
Throughout my life I have been utterly drawn to the human form, I have stacks of sketch books from my adolescents filled with drawings of people and the different ways humanity tries to express itself. Painting and drawing have been my life’s passion. I have studied and refined my skills in both in painting and drawing through years and years of self taught practice, as well as traditional schooling and training. Always looking to seek the ability to translate the creative ideas and underlying human expression. I am forever inspired by the beauty I see in the human expression, both subtle and overt — through body language, gesture and facial expression.
